Transfer me this … Transfer me that … BVB players .. in and out?

Coming up to the time of year when all fans dream of what could be ... but usually end up with what was and could have been ..

who will come in ... more than just prospective talent for BVB II ?
who will leave ....?

again so far the obvious rumour is Robert Lewandowski to come .. and this seems to have progress this time around to more then gossip with Zorc actually admitting interest and confirming BVB want him ... with a deal possibly set for the summer,  with the only stumbling block being possible interest from the money pit that is the EPL,  and the mega buck wage packet they can throw at a player,  will Lewandowski choose style over overindulgent substance and choose to play for BVB

Only time will tell well more specifically hte end of the summer will and how much BVB are willing to splash out on the Pole with the fee rumoured to be around five million euros for the striker.

and to make way for the player there is the sounds from the Nelson Valdez camp as the player recently said in a n interview for Bild he is considering looking at his options in the summer as he wants more playing time than he currently has at the moment , will Valdez call time on a BVB career that has for a striker been somewhat fruitless in goals since his move from Bremen in 2006 ,and while the players overall contribution and effort  has been welcomed by the club maybe a fresh start will do the players strike rate the world of good , who knows.

another player constantly linked with a move away from the club is central defender Neven Subotic who has attracted the gossip columns of many a tabloid newspaper linking him with a big money move to .. you guessed it the EPL with transfer fees of 20 million euros being thrown around, but to the players credit he has consistenly said he wants to stay with BVB and while that may be his intention , the lure of a big money offer may be when and if the time comes could prove too much for the club to resist then its a case of the player himself deciding where his future lies.

With european football next year a distinct possibility BVB will be have to strengthen the squad in depth and quality but how much on how many depends on how well BVB can and are willing to invest as their budget is not expected to be that big .

so really much may depend on Zorc and whether he can unearth a few gems for not a large amount or if he can snap up some good quality free agents who will add to the team not jsut in numbers , the players are out there.. he will just have to look where, or maybe he should just visit many a BVB forum and let them do the scouting for him .. but unlike years past in the summer transfer market.. this one is expected to be a somewhat busier one than normal.

BVB emerge victorious against Hannover

The whistle blew ... it was the end of the game and the score was 4-1 to BVB, they had broken the duck and ended the losing streak with a convincing  4-1 thumping of Hannover, well that's what you would think looking at that scoreline but as big as the scoreline margin was but lets take a step back to the beginning.....

the game got off to a bit of a slow start with both sides keeping possession well and passing was at times neat and tidy.

Through the first 36 mins BVB used their possession better than Hannover in creating a few chances that were put wide and or not taken advantage of  by Barrios , Grosskreutz , Zidan and Sahin respectively. then in the 37th min the game for the wrong reasons had a burst of life when Lucas Barrios received a yellow card which to the disheartening groans of the fans meant he was to miss next weeks clash against Gelsenkirchen.

A little over 2 mins later more life of the bad kind was given to the game when yet another yellow card was handed out , this time to Hummels, what followed was another quiet period until a corner from Sahin resulted in a headed flick from Barrios which met with the head of Subotic who slotted into the bottom right corner to give BVB a  1-0 lead going into half time.

The 2nd half began with BVB asserting a bit more pressure on Hannover , with Sahin pushing forward through more and more and this pressure resulting in a mistake from Hannovers Eggimann in the 62 min who putting the ball into his own net gifted BVB a 2-0 lead.

Shortly after this Klopp made 2 substitutions bringing on Valdez and Hajnal for Zidan and Barrios, Hannover were making very little attacking impact but for a shot from Christian Schulz which duly went wide, BVB however were still going strong now with 2 shots from Kuba with one missing the target and the other forcing a save from the keeper.

Then the pressure finally paid off with recent addition Valdez putting the ball into the back of the net and making the score now 3-0 in the 77th min,  things were looking up for BVB now and the game was looking safe and the 3 points theirs but in the 81st min Arouna Koné grabbed what was to be a consolation goal for the visitors to make it 3-1.

Grosskreutz seemed to be stepping up his play with a a shot that unfortunately fell off target , the next few mins saw Santana come on for Bender and in the 88th min in a Hummels inspired play the ball was fed through to Grosskreutz put the ball in the back of the net and left no doubts as to the winners of the game were. the end result was 4-1 and in cementing the 3 points BVB finally broke the hoodoo of no home win against Hannover since 2003

the focus and thoughts now turn to next weeks game against Gelsenkirchen with BVB hoping to add to this win with a derby win against their neighbours.

Dortmund suffer 2nd defeat in a row

Borussia Dortmund 2 - 3 Eintracht Frankfurt

Borussia Dortmund played host to Eintracht Frankfurt, who hadn't won at Dortmund since 1991. But the visitors walked away victorious today.

The first half of the match came to be a very evenly matched affair, with both sides having plenty of possession and attempts at goal. It was the away team that managed to open the scoring though. With 7 minutes played Benjamin Kohler leaped to meet a Patrick  Ochs cross, and powered home a header.

Frankfurt nearly added a second minutes later when Altintop got some space at the edge of the box but Marc Ziegler was quick off his line to muffle out any attack.

On the 15th minute Dortmund managed to pull a goal back. Grosskreutz's corner was cleared only as far as Mohamed Zidan who played the ball back into the box where Mats Hummels was quick to react to put the ball in the back of the net.

Both teams had their fair share in chances on goal but Frankfurt were the closest to adding to their tally. Altintop managed to shot past Ziegler in the 27th minute but Mats Hummels was quick to clear the ball off the line, and just a few minutes later Altintop again had another great chance but failed to materialise a free header.

On the 39th minute Barrios was clear on goal but quick reactions by the goalkeeper ensured that the Dortmund hitman didn't score.

So at halftime the teams remained on level terms at 1-1.

The second half both teams took a while to get into the match shot wise, both teams kept plenty of possession though.

Dortmund then took the lead in the 56th minute. Owomoyela done well to retain possession of the ball in the oppositions box, he played the ball out to Zidan who crossed the ball into the box. Barrios was there to slot home from a few yards.

Dortmund went on to create a few good chances but the Frankfurt goalkeeper was on good form. In the 64th minute a Frankfurt corner was cleared out to Jung who fired a shot from 20 yards but it took a deflection on the way and Ziegler had no chance. The score levelled at 2-1.

The match livened up as both teams went all out for the winner. Dortmund came closest when a scramble in front of goal failed to materialise. It was then in the 73rd minute when Frankfurt took the lead. Meier took advantage of some slack defending to shoot past Ziegler.

Dortmund had the best chance after that just 1 minute away from the end of regulation time, Santana managed to head over the bar from 2 yards.

Borussia Dortmund: Ziegler- Owomoyela, Subotic, Hummels, Schmelzer, K. Großkreutz, Sahin, Le Tallec, Zidan, Valdez, Barrios
Eintracht Frankfurt: Nikolov- Jung, Franz, Russ, Spycher, Chris, P. Ochs, Meier, Teber, Köhler, Halil Altintop

Borussia Dortmund against Eintracht Frankfurt: Preview

Borussia Dortmund look to splash doubts of a lack of good form and are setting their sights on Frankfurt. Dortmund fell last weekend 1-4 against a strong Suttgart side away from home. The Westfalen return home and will have the support of 70,000 or more fans rooting for them for the clash against Frankfurt on Sunday (17.30).

Dortmund will have Mohamad Zidan back in the squad and it appears that Sven Bender is fit. Bender will be a game time decision, but in training today he had no pain from an earlier complication from the knee. Dortmund will be missing star midfielder Kuba who is suffering from back problems. Felipe Santana is still making a recovery from a bone bruise but the prognosis is looking better.

Frankfurt have a strew of their own players missing but much of their starting eleven has not been badly effected. Big Star missing from Frankfurt is the Greek forward Amanatidis. Dortmund can cushion their lead on Frankfurt in a European place with a win. Frankfurt is eight points behind Dortmund and a win would see Dortmund move eleven points clear of Frankfurt. Dortmund currently sit fourth in the table on 36 points and are looking ambitiously to play European football this year.

Dortmund fairest team in the league

Having received no red cards or yellow-red cards and only picking up 31 yellow cards in total, Borussia Dortmund are ranked fairest team in the Bundesliga. But going into the match against Eintracht Frankfurt four players will have to be on their best behaviour.

Lucas Barrios, Nelson Valdez, Nuri Sahin and Marcel Schmelzer have all accumulated 4 yellow cards each. Meaning if they get one more booking they will face a match ban. Which would only add to the teams personnel problems at the moment, with a few key players out injured.

Valdez and Dortmund smash HSV, secure 4th place

Borussia Dortmund secured fourth place in stunning fashion in a convincing win over Hamburger SV. The Dortmund machine keeps plowing through league opponents and found their next victim in HSV. Dortmund dominated the game for 60 minutes before the guests could react. Nelson Valdez scored the winning goal in the 36th minute off of a smashing strike that left HSV keeper Frank Rost helpless. The Dortmund faithful were elated with joy and the goal turned out to be the winner. HSV were helpless in the first half and were lucky not to go down by two goals or more. Kuba suffered a knock to his mouth and spewed blood on the sidelines. He wasn't to be taken out of the game though and came back with a bang in the second half. Kuba created many chances down the right side but Dortmund failed to capitalize. Barrios had perhaps the best chance in the second half to make it 2-0, leaving Mathijsen in the dust off of a turn but Frank Rost was able to parry the ball away. HSV's best chance was from Mladen Petric late in the second half when the ex-Dortmund striker grazed the top of the netting off of a fine header from a dangerous cross. It wasn't to be for HSV and Dortmund fans can now celebrate 4th place in the league. The Klopp side are showing they may have something to say in the title run still, but for now have created a distance of 8 points from themselves from the following pack for European places.

Dortmund seals a comfortable 2-0 win in Paderborn

Dortmund continued their pre season preparation with a comfortable 2-0 win against SC Paderborn. in the first game since the departure of Alex Frei saw the front 2 pairing of Nelson Valdez and newcomer Dimitar Rangelov.
Tinga replaced Kehl in the holding midfield position with Hajnal playing just behind the front 2 and Sahin and Kuba on the wide positions, with the more familiar defensive line up of Owomoyela and Dede on the outside and Subotic and the ever Improving Santana as the 2 CB's.
All lead by captain for the day Weidenfeller, the first 45 mins was from the Dortmund side was a sturdy and professional performance from Dortmund showing to be  the stronger team with Valdez having 2 chances early on in the 7th and 9th min respectively.
From then on again Valdez had the best chances for a goal with 2 more missed chances in the 35th and 36th min with a Hajnal created move being put straight into into the keepers path with the Paderborn keeper making a comfortbale reflex save which led to a corner.
From the resulting corner Rangelov took the chance and headed past the keeper on the 37th minute giving Dortmund a 1-0 lead.
Paderborn didn't just lay down and were no shrinking violets which showed so in the with Rolf-Christel Guie-Mien forcing Weidenfeller into making a classy save.
Second half saw much expected substitutions with Hummels and Schmelzer coming on for Santana and Dede respectively. Schmelzer had no sooner come on the pitch than a pass mistake he made gifted Frank Löring an early chance to even the scores. this half seemed to show the home team taking more chances and being more agressive in their play.
Further substitutions in the 58th min saw Feulner come on for Sahin and in the 65th min saw Kringe in for Kuba , Zidan in for Rangelov and Grosskreutz in for Hajnal, Grosskreutz immediately made an impact with a cracking chance in the 66th min and showed impressive play with some quality creative passes which in the 70th min saw Valdez miss another chance to make it 2-0.
It wasn't until the 77th min which came the much anticipated and expected 2nd goal scored by Zidan who rounded the defender and keeper to slot the ball in and make it 2-0 finally to Dortmund, Valdez eventually made way for Oztekin on 78th min.
From then on until the final whistle the game seemed to settle down with neither side really taking the game to the fight, though Paderborn seemed to dig in and hold off any further Dortmund attacks.
The game ended 2-0 in a not unexpected win for the visitors Dortmund though with the amount of chances not taken by Valdez the scoreline very well could have been 7-0 but it was just a friendly and proved to be a good game when all was said and done.

Borussia Dortmund : Weidenfeller - Owomoyela, Subotic, Santana (46. Hummels), Dede (46. Schmelzer) - Tinga - Cuba (65. Kringe), Sahin (58. Feulner) - Hajnal (65. large Kreutz) - Valdez (78 . Öztekin), Rangelov (65. Zidan).
